Windsurfing on NJ

Visiting the Jersey shoreline is the best thing to do, come Summer-time!  I happened to be at the Bay-side where the wind was blowing on a clear blue day, and the windsurfers were out and about… And these folks were surfing in speed! Truly exhilarating to see… I framed the first shot with my 300 mm lens with these specs:  f 7.1, ISO 100 @200 mm.   ————————— The second shot is a close-up of another surfer who was gliding away from the shore with grace and speed, both! Shot this also at f7.1, ISO 100   [Shot at Sandy Hook Beach,...

Beautiful Blue Lake

Lakes in and around upstate NY are aplenty.. Here’s one such lake on a late Fall afternoon.. Yes, the summer is approaching but I found this one going through my archives and just had to upload it..   [Somewhere in...

More Sunsets

It is turning out that Sunsets are one of my most favorite things to photograph lately… North Carolina’s Outerbanks gave yet me another chance to engage in this favorite type of picture…. I literally pulled over on the side of the road as soon as I could, when I saw this ball of gold and took a walk for a quarter of a mile backwards to compose this perfection…! [Outerbanks,...

Lonely Tree

Lonely Tree

By the time winter ended, a trip to the NJ shoreline was a must! This lonely winter-torn tree was screaming for my attention at the edge of the bay at Sandy Hook..  I couldn’t resist converting it to a b/w image to bring out the loneliness and the feeling of a bare winter gone-by. The original was shot in color and at a f8 / ISO 200 this image stands out..   [Shot at Sandy Hook,...

Sailboat

Sailboat

Hudson River and Sailboats – these are two things that enlighten the warm days in the NY region… One cannot walk away from the Hudson without seeing at least a few of these. It was on one such day I snapped this shot after a long afternoon walking around various parts of NYC.  I set my Tamron 18-200 at its maximum 200 mm and used a “who cares” F7.1 on this image. I later converted it into a B/w image to bring out the lovely sails on this one!   [Shot in NY,...

BullockCart

Passing through villages and rural roads have so many interesting subjects to the photographer in me! This old bullock cart sitting at the edge of this farmland just was waiting to be clicked! On this lovely bright day, I adjusted my camera to a who cares aperture of F11 and at ISO 200.   [Shot somewhere near Sangali,...

Grandeur!

Grandeur!

Experiencing the Grandeur of nature at its best – this was a breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon from its South Rim…  Shot with my generic 18 -200mm lens, (yes, I’ve since gotten away from the generics and stuck to Canon lenses 🙂 )… Nevertheless, this shot sure captures the supreme natural valley and makes you want to sit on the ledge for hours on end..   [Shot at Grand Canyon,...

Ice Bats

Bat~man…Bat~man… That was the theme that started playing in my head when I came across this. Naturally, it had to be immortalized on to my disk! Formations of ice create such fancy and picturesque images. I came across this ice formation one next to a cave formation in the mountains – hence Ice Bat!   [Shot at Dunnfield Creek Trail,...

Water n’ Ice

Water n’ Ice

Continuing the series of waterfalls here… I set out to capture just the sheet of ice but quickly realized as I was composing the shot that the water mixed in with it would give the necessary drama to the image. To make the waterfall appear like a sheet of water right next to the sheet of ice, I decided to shoot the waterfall at a slower shutter speed of 0.5 sec and at ISO-100 for a overcast day!   [Shot at Dunnfield Creek Trail,...

Waterfall

Waterfall

I found this waterfall and many others on our favorite Hiking trail in Pennsylvania on a warmer-January morning.  A cloudy morning was the perfect setting for this shot. A snow-drought hardly stopped the amount of water coming down this one. Ever fascinated by this type of capture, I like this look of the image as if a veil of water that is coming down the hills. I shot this at slower shutter speed of 0.5 s and at ISO 100.   [Shot at Dunnfield Creek Trail,...

Pumkins’

A fall season in the North East is never complete without going on a fall drive.. Invariably, one will come across a display of pumpkins.  One such display is what I caught just outside a little farm.  I’ve seen many pumpkins big and small, but this one takes the cake in size! [Shot somewhere in...
