Coneflowers for the summer…
As Spring turns to Summer, the yellow coneflowers start appearing all over… One such row of flowers just outside a house, grabbed my attention while at the NJ shore side one afternoon… Looking jubilant and sporting a beautiful shade of yellow, these flowers stole my heart..! On a recent trip to India, we made a family trip into Mysore and nearby regions.. One among them was to the National Tiger reserve at Kabini.. Now, although I don’t have any tiger pictures here, we did manage to spot a Leopard on one of the Safari’s we took (that post coming soon, I promise! 🙂 ) … We went on a late afternoon boat Safari ride to watch the local fauna and on the return I happened to capture these amazing colors of the sky at sunset and their beautiful reflection of the colors in the river water.. The iconic Riverwalk at San Antonio has very inviting views across its length.. At one end of the walk, closer to the famous convention center, I spotted this beautiful view on a cloudy morning, in the Fall one year.. The River Taxi had just passed by and the driver appears to be enjoying the view and the love in air just as much! The leaves were just getting to the peak fall color and that made this view quite magical. The original was shot at f4.5, exposed for 1/320th second and at ISO 400 [Shot at San Antonio,...
Read MoreIcicles
Caught this picture right outside my house one morning after a huge snow storm and the temps were plummeting… If you look closely each tree branch is covered in icicles and looking radiant in front of the cloudy sky behind… The original picture was shot at f4.0; 1/8000th of a second exposure at ISO 400. [Shot at home,...

This year 2013 has been a COLD start to the winter… Not even mid-December and we had a couple of snow storms already… Naturally, that was invitation for me to start driving along the back-roads of NJ and finding something that would interest me… This red house caught my attention on one such drive and I could not stop clicking it! Shot using f4.5 at 1/800th of a second exposure and at ISO 200 [Somewhere in upstate...
Read MoreThe Lone Cyprus
Driving along the CA coastline, the famous 17-mile drive brought me to this Lone Cyprus tree.. This tree has been there for the last hundred or so years and has been the subject of many a photographers in various stages of the day and sunset.. I was not lucky enough to catch this view at a sunset (I would have loved to, given my love for sunsets as seen in my other posts 🙂 ); however this is one of my favorite images from the drive.. [Shot at Monterey Bay,...

Fall is the season for enjoying some long walks in the farms and picking up apples or pumpkins and more, along the way! This picture has a different perspective of all these apples on the ground either fallen on their own or discarded by apple pickers.. I clicked this picture almost two years ago at the local apple farm. Some editing / post processing has been applied to bring out the red in the apples.. [Shot: somewhere in...

This image brings out so many awe inspiring emotions…Mother n’ child – be it any species are such an amazing subject to watch for hours.. On a rainy afternoon, while visiting a horse farm in Lexington, KY (the land of horses!) we saw this newborn foal of barely a day old out in the rain with its mother! The way the foal was hiding under its mother for protection from the elements while feeding at the same time…Just beautiful! No other words!! [Shot at Lexington,...

I took this picture outside of an old house in New Hope.. The leaning lamp post is almost saying, “I’ve seen it all go around here..”.. 🙂 Such is the beauty of antiques.. So many stories might have unfolded here..One may only imagine… [Shot somewhere in New Hope, PA]...

Entry way to a squirrel’s humble abode or a heart carved in by lovers into a tree immortalizing their love?! Althought I’d like to think both, this sure looks like a pretty natural heart shaped tree bark.. I think its nature’s way of saying, love the trees… I think I’m going environmental here… LOL [Shot somewhere in...
